Leading dentists and oral health care professionals are praising the benefits of activated charcoal below are some examples:
“Activated charcoal works by a process called absorption.
Absorption works by bringing out the impurities of an object, in this case, your teeth. The enamel of your teeth can become very stained from day to day life. Some of the main culprits include tea, red wine, coffee, dark chocolate and dark sodas. Activated charcoal can bring out the stains, dirt and grime in your enamel from the absorption process.”

“Activated charcoal helps whiten teeth while promoting good oral health by changing the pH balance in the mouth, helping prevent cavities, bad breath and gum disease. It works to whiten teeth by adsorbing plaque and microscopic tidbits that stain teeth. This activated charcoal use is cost-effective and an all-natural solution for a bright smile.”

“Activated charcoal is one of the most effective ways to whiten your teeth naturally. Those toxin-banishing pores in the charcoal help gently neutralise and lift surface stains on your teeth without pulling off the necessary enamel as many more abrasive teeth whitening products would.”
What’s activated charcoal?
Activated charcoal is coconut carbon that has been treated with oxygen. The treatment results in a highly porous charcoal. These tiny holes give the charcoal a surface area of 300-2,000 m2/g, allowing liquids or gases to pass through the charcoal and interact with the exposed carbon. The carbon adsorbs a wide range of impurities and contaminants, including chlorine, odours, and pigments.
